The coin is named for its designer, US Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan The obverse depicts a profile portrait representing Lady Liberty, while the reverse depicts an eagle with wings outstretched. While not quite a full troy ounce of silver, Morgan dollars are one of the most famous silver dollars for coin collecting and their historical significance.
